Eglise Saint Laurent

Eglise Saint Laurent

The bell tower of the present church, still decorated with Romanesque arcatures, dates from the end of the 11th - beginning of the 12th century. The spire and the nave date from 1749 and 1843. In the cemetery surrounding the building, beautiful funeral stelae of different styles are preserved. A signposted path offers a fun and instructive discovery of the heritage of the commune, the explanatory panel dedicated to the religious building is opposite the church on the wall of the cemetery. The discovery of the church can therefore continue with a walk to discover the other treasures of Gougenheim.
