Christmas in Le Beau Jardin: living traditions and shared magic

In Alsace, Christmas is much more than just a festival: it’s a way of life, a season when authenticity and human warmth come alive in every illuminated alleyway. In the Beau Jardin region, between Kochersberg and Pays de la Zorn, the festivities run from November to January, offering a mosaic of warm-hearted entertainment, picturesque markets and unforgettable encounters.

    1. Christmas in Alsace: a tradition rooted in the heart of the villages

You only have to stroll through the streets of Truchtersheim, push open the farm gates in Ittenheim or follow the lanterns to the Christmas village in Kuttolsheim to feel this unique atmosphere. In Alsace, Advent is a sacred time, and in the Kochersberg and the Pays de la Zorn, it takes on a profoundly human dimension. Here, heritage, know-how and the spirit of sharing all come together to offer visitors and locals a moment of pure magic.

    1. Christmas EsKapades in Truchtersheim: a not-to-be-missed event

📍 From 13 to 21 December – Place du Marché, Truchtersheim
Free admission – Warm atmosphere guaranteed

This is the area’s flagship event, organised by Le Beau Jardin Tourist Office. Every year, the Christmas EsKapades transform the heart of Truchtersheim into a winter wonderland.

On Saturday and Sunday, the market aisles are decorated with wooden chalets, garlands of lights and enchanting scents: mulled wine with spices, freshly baked manneles, local crafts and original gift ideas. The atmosphere is authentic, friendly and deeply Alsatian.

It’s a moment suspended in time, where we rediscover the spirit of Christmas as we love it: sincere, family-oriented and festive,” says a craftsman who has been a regular at the market for several years.

Musical entertainment, shows, children’s storytelling and visits from Saint Nicolas complete the programme, to the delight of young and old alike.
