La Serre : à l'origine du film d'animation

Even before screens, animation was already magical!
Where do cartoons come from? How do we bring still images to life? What if we tried it ourselves?
Embark on a journey through the history of animated film to meet its whimsical ancestors: flipbooks, thaumatropes, zoetropes, phenakistiscopes… Surprisingly simple illusion machines that you can make with next to nothing.
Then it’s time to experiment! A record player turned into a zoetrope, a salad spinner repurposed as a mini-cinema… the children tinker, craft, and “hack” everyday objects to create their own animation machines.
And finally: time to create! Everyone draws their own story, frame by frame, and watches it come to life right before their eyes.
A fun and creative activity to understand—and create—the magic of animation, without screens or technology.
