There's something about birds that we've never understood. A light presence, a fleeting silhouette, a messenger between earth and sky, birds have always been part of our imaginations. The bird carries with it momentum, breath, migration, the fragility of life, but also the promise of an elsewhere. It is at once body, sign, trace and apparition.
With Le Chant du ciel, Galerie Nicole Buck brings together paintings, sculptures and photographs around this free and multiple figure. Works by Martine Luttringer, Marie-Amélie Germain, Anne Bulliot, Dan Steffan, Josef Bücheler, Leïla Helmstetter, Martine Missemer, Germain Roesz, Didier Guth, Christiane Bricka, Mitsuo Shiraishi, Angela M. Flaig, Christophe Chevallier, Sylvie Villaume and Vladimir Velickovic make up a sensitive journey where the bird becomes motif, symbol, presence or whisper.
Here, wings open passages. They draw lines in space, evoking movement, fall, flight, expectation or disappearance. The sky is no longer just a horizon: it becomes an inner territory, a space of memory, freedom and contemplation.
Between breath and silence, matter and lightness, Le Chant du ciel invites us to listen to what birds say without words: the desire to soar, the fragile beauty of the world, and that part of the invisible that links beings to the living.
