Concert : Entre Terre et Ciel
20 september 2025
Saturday | 20:00 → 22:00 |

Le Bon Tempérament is an original vocal and instrumental ensemble: around a hundred musicians of all generations work together in different choirs, as part of an instrumental ensemble or in the symphony orchestra. Since its creation in 1987, Bon Tempérament has organized a summer workshop for all its members. Entre Terre et Ciel was presented in August in Bram, Sorèze and Saint-Félix-Lauragais.
With its program Entre Terre et Ciel, Le Bon Tempérament invites you to discover or rediscover Mozart's ultimate masterpiece, the Requiem Mass in D minor (KV 626) composed in 1791, performed by the adult choir, soloists and orchestra of Le Bon Tempérament. Other musical surprises will be added to the program, including performances by musicians and other Bon Tempérament choirs for children and young people.
The first part of this concert alternates between the Youth Choir and the Children's Choir. The youngsters perform Leonard Cohen's moving Hallelujah. Wolfgang et moi, with music by Marie Paule Belle, humorously evokes the figure of Mozart's elder sister Nannerl. The children's choir continues with Mozart's Polonaise for W.A., arranged by Henry O. Millsby in the spirit of vocal jazz. Un Poco Loco is a song from the animated film Coco, a character transported to the land of the dead. Gradually, we enter the theme of this concert, the Mass of the Dead. La Danse macabre, a symphonic poem composed by Camille Saint-Saëns, evokes death and the ball led by Satan to the crowing of the cock. The orchestral arrangement is by Chloé Rozaire, who directs the Chœur des jeunes.
The second part of the concert is devoted to large-scale excerpts from Mozart's Requiem for soloists, choir and orchestra, one of the most famous works in the religious repertoire of all time.
